Selene Signs shows Spice range of colourful and decorative house signs at GLEE
If you're not afraid of bold, decorative designs, the Spice range of house signs from Selene Signs will delight you. The images, inspired by the colours, patterns and henna tattoos of the East, are exclusively licensed to Selene Signs by Ashcroft Designs, an Oxfordshire-based consultancy specialising in contemporary artwork for greetings cards and gifts.
There are four images in the range:
Spice Lotus: the lotus symbolises beauty, rebirth and enlightenment in many cultures. The detailed design is offset by strong pink background that looks bright when printed on the white finish, or softer and subtle printed on the brushed silver.
Spice Sun: make everyone smile with this warm-hearted sun, even on the dullest day. The brilliant image will put your visitors in a good mood even before you open the front door. Or add a few words instead of a number - it will brighten your home and make a great gift.
Spice Balloons: life is worth celebrating, so these balloons at your front door will lift everyone's spirits. Or use it to replace your usual house sign when there's a party, homecoming or any reason to share the joy.
Spice Marigold: the orange of the decorative marigold flower is offset by an intense purple background. This bold design is a world away from the generic floral sprays of many common house signs.
“We were bowled over when we saw the images from Ashcroft Designs and knew immediately they would make beautiful signs for those who want to make a statement,” says Sheila Gimson, director of Selene Signs. “The designs are refreshing, exciting and will overturn the perceptions of what house signs should look like.”
All signs from Selene are weatherproof and fade resistant, with exceptional detail and colour reproduction. They are made from aluminium, so are lightweight and easy to handle. They need no DIY skills to put them up, attaching to most flat surfaces using the supplied hook and loop pads, and will stay fixed throughout storms and all weathers.
Selene Signs' other ranges include: Classic Car images from the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu; wildlife pictures by award-winning photographer Victoria Hillman; Loveday Designs' stylish dog, cat, peacock and pheasant; Joel Pascual Rodrigues' stunning motorbike and scooter designs; and Selene's in-house designs, which include Moroccan tiles and art deco plate. The company can also personalise customers' own photographs to make a unique house sign, and produce signs for clubs and charities.
Selene's signs come in three rectangular sizes: 28 x 21 cm; 20 x 15 cm; and 15 x 10 cm, either landscape or portrait according to design; and circular 20 cm diameter. The rectangular signs have rounded corners for safe handling. There are two finishes available: a glossy white, for vibrant colour reproduction; and brushed silver, which gives a translucent metallic effect. At end of life the signs are recyclable in household waste streams, unlike acrylic (plastic), wood or stone signs.
