Chris Primett
Planners at Malcolm Scott Ltd Property Development Consultants have secured permission for a series of extensions at Glendoick Garden Centre near Perth.

Following discussions with owners Ken and Jane Cox at the independently run centre about their plans for the business, the Malcolm Scott team prepared a site development plan encompassing extensions to the outside retail area, the shop, soft play area and car park, as well as the erection of a plant market.

Proposals were approved by Perth and Kinross Council in less than 12 weeks.

Chris Primett, Director of Malcolm Scott Consultants, said: “Glendoick Garden Centre has successfully developed its site over many years.  In order for the business to continue to expand we prepared a plan for the future expansion of the centre which provides scope for increased sales at the site, as well as visitor facilities including extending the soft play centre.”

The development plan includes the construction of an 8,062 sq ft open-sided plant market at the site, a 1,980 sq ft extension to the existing soft play centre, a 13,993 sq ft extension to the centre’s existing outside retail area, and a 6,426 sq ft extension to the shop area.

In addition, the main car park will be expanded to provide an additional 82 spaces.

Owner Jane Cox said: “We were delighted to receive the planning permission so quickly for such a major development.  We intend to start the development shortly and continue to expand our business over the next year.  It is so important for our business to constantly provide our customers with new attractions.”
